Betances made a quick & impressive recovery

The New York Yankees drafted towering right-handed pitcher Dellin Betances in the 8th round of the 2006 MLB Draft out of Grand Street High School in New York. He always had the front-line kind of stuff but he was plagued by inconsistent mechanics and injuries, and eventually required Tommy John surgery in 2009. He came back quickly last year and did so as a more refined pitcher.
