Lyerly Has More In The Tank

Rob Lyerly led the Charleston Riverdogs in batting average, doubles and runs batted in last year. He was second in total bases and runs scored, while also stealing nine bags. His coaches think he's got an abundance of potential but coming into the 2011 season with the Tampa Yankees, there's still a lot to improve upon. And he's not backing down from the challenge.

"I want to hit balls harder, drive more balls and cut down strikeouts," Rob Lyerly said. "I want to get better. I want to steal more bases. I want to do everything better than I did last year."
