TAMPA, FL - Pitcher Evan Rutckyj had a decision to make when he finished his senior year of high school in 2010, was he going to play minor league hockey or pursue his professional baseball career? When he chose baseball, it led the left-handed Canadian pitcher to the New York Yankees where he has begun his first full season with the organization.

Evan Rutckyj, who stands at 6-foot-5, 213 pounds, was drafted in the 16th round of the 2010 MLB draft by the New York Yankees. Being a two-sport athlete in high school, he brings athleticism and a tall presence every time he steps on mound.
