Lopez Shortening His Load

Daniel Lopez, who played three consecutive seasons in the Dominican Summer League, found success after batting .293 and .424 in 2010 and 2011 respectively. He was promoted to the United States just eleven games into this year's DSL season and his stock is beginning to rise substantially with his play in the Gulf Coast League so far. His swing changes are a big reason why.

Daniel Lopez, who stands at 6'2" 175-pounds, started in ten games in centerfield for the DSL squad in 2011. He recorded a .913 fielding percentage and piled up three quick assists at the position.
