Cody Grice has taken a strange route to a professional baseball career. In fact, his baseball career began with football. A running back and linebacker by trade, Grice virtually walked on to the Grand Valley State baseball team. But his raw ability as an athlete helped him climb the proverbial ladder and turn it all into a baseball calling.

Grice was drafted mere months ago in the 12th Round of the 2011 Draft and signed quickly, eager to start playing as quick as possible. "I was excited to get signed and get going after the draft, and I went down to Tampa to get settled in," Grice said. "It was really all about getting acclimated.
