The New York Yankees signed catcher Gary Sanchez for $3 million as their top International free agent in 2009 out of the Dominican Republic. It was an up and down year for the slugger in his first taste of the long-season leagues in Charleston and yet he still matched the incredible power production Jesus Montero had at the same age, and he offers the same kind of long-term offensive potential.
