Turley Not Letting Up

TAMPA, FL - Nik Turley may be ready to advance up the system quickly this year. Last year in the South Atlantic League, he averaged one strikeout per inning and in 82.1 innings pitched, he allowed just 70 hits and posted a n ERA of 2.51. Turley has started the 2012 season with the Tampa Yankees, and after two quality starts, he is looking to move up to Double-A this year.

Turley looked dominant in his first start when he struck out nine in five innings and allowed only four hits. "He's shown an ability to throw strikes and throw down in the zone," said Yankees pitching coach Jeff Ware.
