Oliver has five good starts out of six so far

In 2011 Will Oliver led the Staten Island Yankees in strikeouts and innings pitched with 57 and 68.1, respectively. Oliver, who turns 25 in July, has been keeping pace with these numbers so far this year with the Charleston RiverDogs, posting 20 strikeouts in his 28.2 innings pitched.

His sharp offspeed pitches have been a huge reason for his recent success. "Will has the ability to spin the ball really well," Charleston pitching coach Danny Borrell said. "He's got a really good curveball and a good slider." While Oliver's offspeed pitches have always been strong, he has become more focused on avoiding walks. This season, so far, he has 14 walks.
