STATEN ISLAND, NY – Left-hander Evan Rutckyj is proving to be one of the more reliable arms in Staten Island's rotation this season. But whether he can take the ball every fifth day and get it over the plate for strikes has been the matter in question since his demotion from Charleston in mid-June.

Rutckyj threw the ball exceptionally in Extended Spring Training, earning him a spot on the Charleston squad.
