Forget about the numbers Nik Turely posted this year even though they were awesome [10-5, 3.00 ERA, as many strikeouts as innings pitched]. The fact is behind the numbers he saw a significant uptick in his stuff in 2012, including adding a brand new pitch.

Not only did he see his average velocity bump up to the 90-92 mph range and consistently pop some 94s on the radar gun, he also began showing a more consistent curveball, one in which also got a bit harder as well.
