Prospect Watch: Make it a 10 game hit streak now for Jaff Decker who is hitting .395/.455/.605 during the streak. Decker also recorded his first stolen base, fourth overall, since Memorial Day. Jaff's month by month BA is April - .238, May - .250, June - .322, July - .382… Kevin Quackenbush has only allowed one earned run in his last 7.2 innings, striking out eight.

Prospect Watch: If only Tommy Medica's shoulder was healthy enough to catch because he can flat out hit. Despite the injuries and not being able to catch, his prospect stock continues to rise as he keeps on hitting in San Antonio. Medica has shown a surprisingly quick bat for someone his size, and crushes pitches on the inside. His ceiling will depend on his health, but his bat will allow for the Padres to not give up on him anytime soon.
Prospect Watch: Duanel Jones hit his fourth homerun of the year in his 90th game. When the Padres signed him, he came with an asterix after testing positive and being released from his contract. The Padres really liked his potential and thought he would develop power. Unfortunately over the last two years (200 games), Jones has hit only nine homeruns and an abysmal .320 SLG.
