Webb has 52 K's in 35 innings this year

TRENTON, NJ - It seems like just last year Tyler Webb was wearing a number 38 for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. That's because it actually was just last year that Webb was a college pitcher. Since being a tenth-round draft pick by the New York Yankees last summer, Webb has not only worked his way up the minor leagues, he's sprinted through the system.

In his first four professional games with the Staten Island Yankees, he pitched five innings, recorded one save, and struck out eight batters he faced. Next he went to the Charleston RiverDogs of the South Atlantic League. He pitched there for the remainder of 2013 and went 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA.
