Duncan Ready to Tackle New Position

Rising quickly through the Yankee farm system, scouts and fans alike anticipate this may be the year slugging first basemen Eric Duncan will show his pedigree as a power hitting, corner infielder. Yet, with so much attention directed his way, it is easy to forget that Duncan is just 21-years old, entering his second season above A-ball, and is switching positions all while playing as one of the youngest players at the AAA level.

Heralded as a future star at the hot corner, Duncan's plans changed with the Yankees' acquisition of Alex Rodriguez prior to the 2004 season. With third base locked up in the Bronx for the next half decade, Duncan's switch to first base satisfies the needs of the organization and displays Duncan's willingness to help the club anyway he can.
