Yanks Draft Another Pitcher, Tim Norton

As they continue to rack up the pitchers, the Yankees picked up University of Connecticut righty, Tim Norton in the 7th round. Norton has had a dominating college career for the Huskies and will look to see if his success will continue at the professional level.

In 2005, there were few pitchers in the Northeast, or even the nation for that matter, that were as dominant as Tom Norton. Going 7-2 with a 2.04 ERA in 92.2 innings pitched, Norton led the staff all season long. Not to mention, he also struck out 96 while walking only 24. It was also quite obvious that batters had very little fun while facing him as they batted only .190. Quite often college seniors offer little upside, but in this case, Norton may be the exception.
