Shelley Duncan was sent back to Trenton

(Trenton, NJ)- The Trenton Thunder, Class AA affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that OF Shelley Duncan has been transferred from Columbus Clippers (AAA-International League) to Trenton. OF Matt Carson has been transferred to the Tampa Yankees (High A-Florida State League).
Duncan was batting .186 in 12 games for Columbus with one home run and four RBI. Duncan, who was recalled by the Clippers on June 19th, hit a home run in his first game for Columbus that night. Duncan was placed on the Disabled List July 9th with an oblique injury. He was activated from the Disabled List on August 4th.
Duncan hit .257 for the Thunder in 66 games this season with 15 home runs and 43 RBI. Duncan was named Eastern League “Player of the Week” for the week ending June 11th. It was the second time that Duncan has won the award this season and the third time in his two seasons with the Thunder. Duncan, who blasted a league-high 34 home runs for Trenton last season, was among the Eastern League leaders in home runs, extra-base hits, and RBI at the time of his promotion to Columbus. Shelley was selected by the Yankees in the second round of the June 2001 draft out of the University of Arizona.
Carson batted .250 in 19 games for the Thunder with five RBI. He was transferred from the Tampa Yankees to Trenton on July 14th. Carson hit .243 in 40 games with eight home runs and 21 RBI for the Tampa Yankees this season. Carson was on the Disabled List from May 25th through July 12th with a concussion. His most memorable game this season in Tampa was on April 24th when he went 4-for-4 with three home runs, five RBI and four runs against Sarasota.
Carson split time between the Thunder and Tampa during 2005. With the Thunder, he hit .192 in 28 games with one home run and five RBI. He played in 84 games with Tampa and hit .252 with 8 home runs and 39 RBI including a 13-game hitting streak.
Carson was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2002 draft from Brigham Young University.
