Robertson Set To Begin His Yankee Career

Robertson began workouts on Tuesday

The Yankees selected University of Alabama closer David Robertson in the 17th round of the 2006 MLB Draft. A draft eligible sophomore who fell in the draft after being deemed unsignable, the Yankees signed Robertson on Monday night and he immediately began workouts at the minor league complex in Tampa on Tuesday.

"It's nice," David Robertson said of signing with the Yankees, "it's a real good feeling. I thought I was going back to Alabama and it was like five or six days before I was going back before we realized signing with the Yankees was going to happen." Robertson saved 18 games for the Crimson Tide in his two years at Alabama and struck out 170 batters in just 127 2/3 innings. Damon... Recommended Stories
