Rasner 'Cutting' His Way In The AFL

Look at the stats Darrell Rasner put up this season and two things jump out. First, he was very good. A 4-0 record with a 2.76 ERA are great numbers in any league, and at Triple-A Columbus of the International League, they are brilliant. Next, there was a huge portion of this season where he had no stats at all, the result of a shoulder injury.

The other number that stands out is Rasner's age, he will turn 26 in January, and his 'prospect' status is quickly fading away. Rasner made five starts for the Nationals last year, and had one start, and four relief appearances, this year for the Yankees. Once again his stats are impressive, 3-1 with the Nats in '05 and a 3.68 ERA for the Yanks this season. So why is he in the Arizona Fall...
