Dominican Instructs - Ramirez Opening Eyes

Alvaro Ramirez went 3-4 on Friday

Playing another split-squad game, the Yankees fell to the Dodgers 6-5 on the road on Friday, despite taking an early 5-0 lead in the first inning. Even though the Yankees had some fireworks early, scrappy outfielder Alvaro Ramirez was the standout performer on Friday. Also, one of the pitchers was sent home.

Alvaro Ramirez, built like former Yankee Luis Polonia, went 3-4 with a run scored and hit the ball hard all four times he stepped to the plate. At just 5-foot-9 and a listed 160 pounds, he doesn't intimidate anybody with his size. But just like Polonia, he's a pesky out and he's got some great wheels. He is probably as fast as any at Dominican Instructs and could probably hold his own...
