White Off To A Solid Start

White is starting to pitch deeper into games

Prior to Monday's start, Steven White had mixed results in his first three starts in Scranton. He had compiled a 1-1 record and given the Yankees one quality start in three opportunities. Monday night's start could prove to be an excellent turning point however as White delivered 7 1/3 strong innings of shutout baseball, limiting Syracuse to two hits and three walks, while striking out two.

White was pleased with the outing, as was pitching Coach Dave Eiland. "I've seen Whitey for the last couple of years. He pitched a very good ball game but still wasn't his best. He didn't miss any pitches out over the plate, all his misses were the outside of the plate," Eiland said of White's performance, "That was evident in his final numbers.
