Clippard Has Been Humbled

Clippard is scheduled to start on Tuesday

He led his leagues in strikeouts in each of the past two years entering this season and went 2-0 with a 1.33 ERA in his previous four starts prior to getting called up to the big leagues back in May. But a 6.14 ERA in his six starts upon being sent back down, Clippard has now found himself all the way back in Double-A and he says he has learned a very valuable lesson.

"Yeah definitely," Tyler Clippard said if he was disappointed being sent back down to Double-A. "I mean obviously there were some things I wanted to iron out. I wasn't pitching like I know I'm capable of in Triple-A, but I felt that's where I needed to stay to kind of work it out." "Those things are out of your hands though," he added.
