Dog Days Of August Slow Down Jackson

For Tampa centerfielder Austin Jackson, the early results in his promotion to Tampa couldn't have gone any better. He got off to a phenomenal offensive start, batting .385 in June and followed that up with a .357 clip in July. The outstanding performance garnered attention from not only the coaches of the Tampa Yankees, but also Yankees fans in general.

But August hasn't been nearly as kind for the talented five-tool player. The .196 average is a clear indication, as well as the .263 on-base percentage. The drop off in performance is evident, but the positive attitude of Austin Jackson is far from hindered. "I'm just trying to do things to improve everyday," he said. "That's all I can really do."
