After finishing the year strong, posting a 1.59 ERA in his final ten appearances with the Trenton Thunder, the Yankees sent reliever Kevin Whelan to the Arizona Fall League to continue working on his fastball command. But after developing a sore arm just three appearances into the AFL season, Whelan says they decided to err on the side of caution and shut it down early. | |
