The Yankees signed shortstop Jimmy Paredes for $80,000 out of Haina in the Dominican Republic as part of their 'July 2nd' signing group in 2006. The free-swinger led DSL Yankees1 in RBI in his professional debut season and, one of the more projectable power hitters, he made huge strides improving his overall strength while shifting over to third base.
