The Yankees selected George Kontos in the 5th round of the 2006 MLB Draft out of Northwestern University. Skipping a minor league level to Tampa this past season after dominating in Staten Island a year ago, he has come a long way already in his mechanics and stuff since posting high ERA's in the Big Ten back in college.
