Signed in 2005 out of the Dominican Republic, Abraham Almonte quickly grabbed the attention of team officials with a tremendous season in the Dominican Summer League the following year. With his defensive progress a little slow at second base, the Yankees moved him to centerfield this past season and everybody believes he in on the cusp of becoming a top prospect.
