The Yankees acquired heralded pitching prospect Humberto Sanchez, a native of the Bronx, as part of a package from the Detroit Tigers in the Gary Sheffield trade last offseason. Befalling Tommy John surgery last Spring Training, the power pitcher is set to return in 2008 and he has the talent to help the Yankees this year.
