The Yankees signed Wilkins De La Rosa in 2001 as an outfielder and just two years ago was playing the field in Charleston for the Riverdogs. The Yankees then turned him into a pitcher and he posted a 2.63 ERA while pitching in the Gulf Coast League last year. His transition has obviously been a smooth one from the field to the mound and he is becoming one of the stars on the Charleston staff.
