Stephens Back in a Big Way

Riverdogs starter Jason Stephens seems to have been through it all. He was with the team in 2006 and putting up amazing numbers before having Tommy John surgery midway through the season. He was cruising then - in six starts he had posted a 1.80 ERA with a 4-1 record, five walks and thirty-four strikeouts - and now he's duplicating the same success in Charleston once again two years later.

While rehabbing his way back from Tommy John surgery, Jason Stephens started the 2007 season on the disabled list before joining the Gulf Coast League Yankees for two games and then Staten Island for nine games. He went a combined 4-1 with a 1.70 ERA for both teams and again maintained a stellar strikeout-to-walk ratio that season with eleven walks and forty-three strikeouts. The 23-year...
