Tabata Getting His Confidence Back

Jose Tabata - a career .305 batter entering the 2008 season - hit pretty close to rock-bottom at the end of April when he saw his average dip down to .200 with the Trenton Thunder before reportedly leaving the team early and serving a subsequent suspension. Since that time, however, the Venezuelan native has rediscovered his confidence and he has started turning his season around.

"Stuff like this happens," Jose Tabata said of his slow start to the season through the help of a translator. "Everybody goes through a slump every once in a while and I had mine in the first part of the season. "I've been able to hit throughout my career and I'm starting to hit the ball now.
