Betances Looking Forward To Improving

Betances is looking to cut down on the walks

When Dellin Betances went on the Disabled List on May 27th, it left the Charleston Riverdogs with a huge hole in their rotation. The highly touted prospect fell victim to the dreaded upper body injury and was out for about a month before making three rehab starts with the Gulf Coast Yankees. Those appearances were a far cry from Betances' and the Yankees' expectations.

In three games while rehabbing at the rookie level, Betances posted an 8.53 ERA and in six innings allowed thirteen hits, six runs, struck out six and walked three. Walks have been an issue for the New York native as he has put forty-nine men on base this season via base on balls. It is the one thing Betances regrets when reflecting on the first half.
