Rye Making Up For Lost Time

Rye is still getting used to wood bats

With their thirteenth round pick the Yankees choose Jack Rye, an outfielder from Florida State University, because of his strong bat and good plate discipline. A College World Series participant, he wasn't able to sign until later than most and now he's looking to make up for lost time.

In four years at FSU Rye hit for average with a .354 overall batting average. He also showed decent power, hitting as many as twelve home runs during his sophomore year and 31 overall. Rye also showed exceptional plate discipline by walking 162 times compared to just 107 strikeouts.
