Almonte Looking To Turn It Around

Almonte's average has dropped 66 points since 6/7

After a solid first half of the season, Abraham Almonte has struggled immensely at the plate - hitting just .160 after the All-Star break and under .100 in the month of July - and now he's looking to turn things around in the last few weeks of the season.

The 2008 season started well for Charleston Riverdogs centerfielder Abraham Almonte. He hit a scorching .341 in May and things started to slide. In June he carried a .242 average and had two RBI. In July, things bottomed out and Almonte has hit .094 and broke a 0 for 17 skid on July 26th with his first hit in nine days. Overall though, Almonte is pleased with the first half of the season...
