Pena Slowly Improving

Pena is adjusting to finally playing a full season

Ramiro Pena, off of an appearance at the Futures Game at Yankee Stadium, has put together a solid season following an injury-marred 2007 campaign. After missing significant time in 2007 with a slew of injuries, including a pulled groin and a dislocated right shoulder, he has bounced back to put together a solid season for Double-A Trenton.

"Pena's gotten better each day, been getting better since the beginning of the season," said Trenton manager Tony Franklin, seemingly happy with the progress made. "I couldn't tell you what he's hitting but he's hitting pretty well, having a good season." Franklin also cautions, however, that fatigue could potentially be a problem for Pena, who has hit just .222 after the All-Star break...
