Considering his 2007 season was the second time he had returned from a year layoff dealing with a serious injury, he now admits that he had a hard time letting it rip upon his return last year. "Obviously coming off of an injury you're always going to have it in the back of your brain that you are coming off of an injury, so there is a little holding back," Hacker admitted. "Early on my arm still wasn't at 100 percent, it still took me longer to get loose." He says he didn't get over the mental hangup of avoiding further injury until later in the 2007 season and that's when he saw his velocity jump from his normal 87-91 MPH range to the 90-95 MPH range.
