Brandon Laird lost 20 pounds this offseason

TAMPA, FL - What a difference a year makes. A year ago Brandon Laird was struggling to find his swing in Spring Training, causing him to get off to a slow start, and his limited range was a factor in his switch to first base. Reporting to camp in great shape this year, however, Laird will be making the switch back and he's serious about getting off to a stronger start this season.

"I went to my Boras Institute again for about fifteen weeks this offseason," said Brandon Laird, who lost twenty pounds this offseason. "I went everyday, I was real serious. "I started my dieting in the last part of the season [last year] and got real serious with that. It's going real well."
