Brewer Relishes Underdog Role

Brewer has gotten on base in seven straight games

CHARLESTON, SC - Despite a solid professional debut season in Staten Island last year, Dan Brewer wasn't a front-runner to land one of the starting outfield jobs in Charleston this season. And even though he doesn't exactly have the tools of a top prospect, he relishes the underdog role and he's been fighting his way into the starting mix.

After a challenging Spring Training, Dan Brewer is enjoying the results of his hard work. Playing for the Charleston RiverDogs, he has had 91 at-bats and has recorded 32 hits [a .352 average], eight doubles, eleven RBI's, and 17 walks.
