Duff has added a pitch to his repertoire

TAMPA, FL - It was back in 2006 when Grant Duff was showing some great stuff with the Gulf Coast League Yankees, stuff that seemed perfect for the back end of a bullpen. Nearly three years later he is still transitioning to the pen, and while the stuff has changed some, it's the location of his pitches that will be the key to his success.

Now a full-time relief pitcher, Grant Duff feels comfortable, but continues to work on his consistency and the location of his pitches in order to prove useful to the Tampa Yankees pitching staff. In 2007 as a starter with Charleston, Duff's fastball velocity sat around 89- , but has now increased to between 90-95 mph on average; however, his once-powerful slider is on the rocks as of late...
