We sat down with Yankees 16th round pick Bryan Mitchell for a Draft Day Q&A session. Find out what the right-handed pitcher from Rockingham County High School says about his stuff, who he would compare himself to at the big league level, what he'll bring to the Yankees organization, and more.

PinstripesPlus.com: What's on your mind when you're selected by a team like the Yankees?

Bryan Mitchell: The phone was ringing like crazy for the first 30 minutes. But I mean it was really exciting to know that I am going to have a chance at this. Once I found out it was a big relief. I am just really excited.

PinstripesPlus.com: Had you had any contact with the Yankees prior to the draft? Did you know you were a target?

Mitchell: We've talked a lot, but I'm very glad that I was chosen by them because ever since I met there area scout we just kind of clicked and it work out well. I knew that they had really liked me and wanted me to play for them..

PinstripesPlus.com: Do you have any idea what the Yankees farm system and organization looks like?

Mitchell: I went to a workout last week and I know everything they do, they do it first class. I got to put on a Yankee uniform and no mater what level, they treat everyone the same.

PinstripesPlus.com: What specific pitches do you throw?

Mitchell: This season, I threw a four and two-seam fastball, a curveball, and a changeup. My fastball this year was 92-93.

PinstripesPlus.com: Did you have a favorite team or player growing up?

Mitchell: My favorite player has always been [Albert] Pujols growing up.

PinstripesPlus.com: What's your best moment in baseball?

Mitchell: Last year, my junior season, because I threw a no-hitter last year.

PinstripesPlus.com: Are you looking to sign quickly and get your professional career started?

Mitchell: I would like to get started soon as I can, that would be great.

PinstripesPlus.com: Do you think the pressures of pitching in New York could be a problem?

Mitchell: I know it's going to be more pressure but I feel like I can handle the pressure. I just have to work to get there. I look forward to having that pressure..
