In the short-season New York-Penn League, Deangelo Mack has found a comfortable position in the Staten Island outfield as well as one of the league's leading hitters. Mack, part of Staten Island's corps of heavy hitting outfielders, has been able to buckle down after a whirlwind draft and quick entry into professional baseball.

"It's a big difference coming from college because now we play everyday, we show up earlier, we work harder, it's like a job," Deangelo Mack said. "We are constantly working on stuff to get better."
