Brandon Laird has become the poster boy for the baseball slogan that it's not about how you start the season, it's about how you finish it. In true marathon fashion, he had another second-half surge in 2009 and he's keeping it up in the Arizona Fall League, and he says his success is due to the fact that has been sticking to the same approach.

After starting the 2009 campaign hitting just .242 with three home runs prior to the Florida State League All Star break, Brandon Laird hit .289 with ten home runs and more walks and less strikeouts in the second half.
