Heredia Hoping For Fresh Start

Despite injuries in 2009, Jairo Heredia had a taste of success as he advanced from the GCL Yankees to Charleston, ultimately concluding the season with the Tampa Yankees. Breaking camp with Tampa this Spring, he experienced a rough start to the 2010 season. The young pitcher from the Dominican Republic is now back in Charleston to work on a few things with the hope of making a return to the FSL.

"Things didn't go the way I wanted them to. I was working very hard to make my pitches work well," Jairo Heredia explained through the help of a translator. "I just wasn't lucky." Last season Heredia was plagued with shoulder inflammation, causing him to miss part of the season. Last year's injury, however, had nothing to do with the reassignment to Charleston last week.
