Heathcott Brings Energy To Charleston

Due to an extended stay in spring training, Yankee fans have been kept guessing as to when and where Slade Heathcott would make his professional start. Those questions were answered Wednesday night in Charleston when Heathcott, the number one draft pick in 2009, took the field with the RiverDogs.

Slade Heathcott admits that he was a little disappointed that he remained in extended spring training rather being assigned to a team earlier in the season. He believes, however, that everything happens for a reason. In Tampa, the 19 year old was able to improve his game through many extra hours of hard work.
