"Moving up". It's what every minor league player strives for. That chance to ascend through the ranks of the organization is on every player's mind. Whether it be after camp breaks in the spring or sometime during the season, everyone wants to be where they aren't. Granted, the clock is usually slow during the climb, but who doesn't want to be at least one level above the status quo?

Such is the case in Staten Island, the land of the rookies and aspiring veterans. The mix of fresh faces and Extended Spring players is a curious contrast. Some are happy to just be there, some eager to move as quickly as possible. Kelvin De Leon is decidedly in the latter, like many of his teammates.
