The Yankees drafted right-handed pitcher Branden Pinder in the 16th round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of Long Beach State. It was quite a rollercoaster season for him in 2013. He struggled initially with Double-A Trenton to start the season, rediscovered his game upon a demotion to high-A Tampa, and then pitched well for Trenton in their championship run late in the season.
