The Yankees initially signed left-handed pitcher Omar Luis out of Cuba for $4 million in July of 2012 but visa issues kept him in Haiti for several months before an issue with his physical shaved the bonus down to $2.5 million. He then struggled in his professional debut season this year but still showcased some amazing stuff while shaking off the two-year rust from his long layoff.
