It’s been a long road back for Tampa Yankees’ pitcher Jose Valdez. Having endured the arduous recovery process from every pitcher’s nightmare, Tommy John surgery, he seemed poised to return to form for the 2006 campaign. Coming out of the bullpen, Valdez produced impressive numbers with a 1-1 record and a 1.98 ERA with the Gulf Coast Yankees and the Charleston Riverdogs.
