The Yankees signed top international signee Jesus Montero out of Venezuela on July 2nd of 2006 and he made his professional debut last season. He showcased his special raw power by hitting five home runs in a little more than 100 at-bats with the Gulf Coast League Yankees and made huge defensive progress behind the plate.
