It was a bitter-sweet season for outfielder Melky Mesa. Leading Charleston in home runs and ranking among the league leaders, he proved to be quite the power hitter by clubbing more home runs in one season than he had his previous five seasons combined. But after striking out at an alarming rate and finishing with a low batting average, he realizes he still has much to prove.
