It was a fantastic professional debut season for D.J. Mitchell in 2009, going a combined 12-7 with a 2.63 ERA between stops in Charleston and Tampa. The rapid development of a non-existent curveball a year ago into a plus pitch was a huge reason for his immediate success and now he says he wants to hone his changeup into a similarly effective weapon.
