Biography:
The New York Yankees assigned pitcher Jose Valdez to the Gulf Coast League Yankees in 2002 after a season of playing for the Yankees Dominican Summer League team. He impressed scouts with his blazing fastball and his unorthodox pitching approach. Now, at the age of only 21, Valdez has already began to rocket through the farm system and is already beginning to be considered by scouts as the possible pitching gem in the Yankees farm system.
